Art is a great way for students to express themselves and process their feelings. It also gives students a new way to make learning connections across subject areas and builds community. Our classroom is a portable without access to a sink or running water, which makes many art options extremely difficult. Our school sets of oil pastels are used up and students are left scrambling to share a single red or purple pastel among multiple students. A class set of oil pastels would allow us to do art projects all year long and teach students to be responsible for their materials.
