My students are a wonderful group of 4th graders who attend a Title I public school in a small rural community in Florida. The average per capita income is $17,225. The poverty rate in my county in 2008 was 21.5%. The official U.S. poverty rate in 2008 was 13.2% (U.S. Census Bureau). My students are very eager to learn and absorb everything you say. We have a variety of learning styles in my classroom but they love hands-on based projects and most love to be the center of attention!
