A lot of our students do not have the opportunity to play instruments outside of the classroom. This project would give them more hands-on time with instruments to which they may not otherwise have access. Students will be using the ukuleles to enhance our end-of-year concert. Students, staff, and parents are used to hearing recorded or keyboard accompaniment to our songs. Having the ukuleles played by students will truly bring another dimension to our concerts that has not been heard before. It will also give the students a preview of an instrumental performance that may lead to them joining band in middle school.
