I work with all the students at our school as the media specialist. We are an International Baccalaureate school. We have a diverse population of students with over 50 countries represented. We have approximately 30% of our students on free and/or reduced lunch. We have over 15% of our students in the ESOL program. The media center is a great place to be a teacher in the school. I see the students for all kinds of classes (reading, technology, Internet safety), for research, and they come in when they want to check out a book. Since I have begun setting up learning centers more students have come in to play games, explore, try their luck with strategic games and in the interim, they have begun to ask more questions. Inquiry is one of our IB traits and one we try to emphasize and encourage all year!
