I have a total of 25 students in my class from various backgrounds. Each child possesses his/her own unique and special qualities, which I am excited to learn more about throughout the school year. Although many exciting adventures and learning sparks happen in first grade, reading is the most important of them all. As a first grade teacher, I have the privilege of not only teaching my students HOW to read, but also helping them develop a lifelong love for reading. One way that I hope to spark this love of reading is by incorporating the technology that is readily available to students outside of school and combining it with literacy through a modern day "books on tape."
