I have an inclusive classroom of Kindergarten students. There are 4 girls and 10 boys. There are 5 students on IEP's. Most of the IEP needs are behavioral with attention and anxiety issues. They come from a vast array of backgrounds. The level of poverty in our area is on the rise. Several of my students come from broken homes, while others are from nuclear middle class homes. The diversity is ever growing. We are an all day everyday program. We are fortunate enough to have every day physical education and a S.M.A.R.T room which stands for Stimulating Maturity through Accelerated Readiness Training. This incorporates movement in ways that students use cross body movements to train their brains and ready themselves for learning. We try to incorporate a lot of hands on and small group learning to differentiate as much as possible.
