The district I teach in is currently 100% remote due to the coronavirus. A MacBook Pro will allow me to provide my students with high-quality virtual Special Education services. This will allow my students to meet their IEP (Individual Education Plan) goals in ELA, Math and the Wilson Reading Program. My district is currently providing Chromebooks for virtual teaching, which has posed many challenges including poor video quality, poor audio quality, small storage capacity, and extended lag time. Small group instruction with my special education students using our current devices has made it difficult for my students to participate in real-time lessons with immediate teacher feedback. A MacBook Pro will allow me to teach my students in a high-quality virtual setting to maintain and build their academic skills in order to meet their IEP (Individual Education Plan) learning objectives.
