Hi there! I am a fifth year teacher, moving up from 4th grade to 8th grade literacy this year. I am extremely excited to be working with adolescents at such a pivotal time in their lives. Living in a city, these kids are exposed to a lot more than your average teens and I am going to use books to talk about some of these hard issues. We are at a fantastic urban school in the great state of Illinois. Many of my students' world/society explorations do not extend beyond the classroom, so it is important that we make our learning time meaningful!
