My goal as a first year teacher is for all of my students to fall in love with reading. I believe one way to achieve this goal is by providing students with books that allow them to relate to the character(s) within a story. All students deserve to feel represented within their classroom library. I hope by having a diverse classroom library that all of my students will be able to create meaningful connections with the texts and feel represented within our classroom. I strongly believe diversity should be incorporated into the classroom library.
