I believe in the power of play. Play is our work in preschool. I am hoping to engage my students in more creative invitations to learn and play using these materials. Loose parts are a huge component of the Reggio Approach. I love to have a wide variety of supplies to engage my students. Loris Malaguzzi, the founder of Reggio Emilia Approach, said, "The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences." We will explore color, texture, and balance with the wooden tree blocks, rainbow blocks, wool balls, stones, and wooden peg dolls. The spools, wooden square tiles, natural wood rings, and wicker rattan balls will provide more opportunities for our youngest learners to manipulate and create with diverse materials. The weaving loom and dominos will provide an opportunity to build fine motor skills. We will be able to practice collaborating and communicating with others while creating countless masterpieces! We will enhance our math skills, our fine motor skills, and our imagination. These materials will enhance our learning through play! I can't wait to see what my students will create!
