The furniture that I am requesting is part of a vision that I have had for my classroom for a long time. Students who have trouble focusing or sitting still will be able to utilize stability ball chairs (which are also good for building core strength in all humans, big and small!). Teens will be able to work collaboratively around bar-height tables while they either stand or sit on adjustable height stools. These tables and stools will also serve nicely as "stations" when students are engaging in activities that require them to move around the room and work at their own pace. Beanless, inflatable comfy chairs will be available to students who want to relax with their independent reading, or just want to discuss class projects with a partner in comfort. Studies are starting to show us that putting students in flexible seating helps increase attention spans and improves student behavior, and because they have the power to choose where they will sit, they feel that they have more control over their learning experience. If you want to see how one teacher really made this work for her own students, check out this article: https://www.edsurge.com/news/2015-10-01-why-the-21st-century-classroom-may-remind-you-of-starbucks
