I serve a diverse group of students with varying disabilities. Many of them are not able to fully benefit from a traditional educational program and are in need of technology to help them integrate into the regular classroom setting. These iPads will help to facilitate a broader range of educational activities and to ensure the standard curriculum is accessible to all. This technology will work as an equalizer for my students, helping to free them from their disabilities. My students with learning disabilities in reading will be able to use the classroom iPads to access grade level texts and audible books. They will have the option of having specific text read to them. Through word processing and word predictor apps, my students with difficulties in expressive language will be able to develop meaningful writing. Reluctant learners will be engaged through the use of educational activities and games. We need to embrace technology to make learning more engaging. Because when students are engaged and they are interested, that's where learning takes place. Through educational games and activities in math, students will be engaged and acquiring necessary skills and knowledge in order to be successful.
