My second graders have so many personal things going on in their little lives and books provide them with an opportunity to take a break from the real world around them and escape into a world of imagination and joy. We already have a few fictional read-along books for them to listen to, however, they are needing some non-fiction, informational books, good working headphones and a place up off the cold, hard tile floor to comfortably sit and enjoy a good book. These items will provide a place that feels safe and relaxing which will help build motivation and joy to read.
