I work in a Kindergarten classroom where my students are spending half of their day learning Chinese, and the other half of the day with me learning reading & writing! I have a diverse group of kids with all different family backgrounds & needs, but all Kindergarteners have one need in common- the need to move! My kids are kind, smart & very energetic, and my job as a teacher is to help them learn how to utilize their energy for good. With the new rigorous expectations in Kindergarten, there are a lot fewer opportunities for my kids to move and play, therefore I want to create a classroom environment that promotes movement while still being productive and engaged. With the proper tools in their toolbox, these kids can harness that extra energy and put it to good use. With seats that allow them to still be moving, they will be able to focus longer on the task at hand, and require less breaks in the classroom!
