This year we are focusing on utilizing imaginative, constructive play to support STEM in the classrooms and build foundation skills. Students need hands on activities to gain further understanding of the STEM framework as it relates to developing 21st century students. The Blocks and Blueprints are for students to be able to build 3-D architectural projects. The Building Blocks are so that students can learn through imaginative play. The Marble-Run will help teach students about force, motion, and energy. The math towers will allow students to practice their facts through hands on play. These materials will also support the application of STEM habits such as creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, persistence, and perseverance through play. As we strive to provide our students a level of education that reflects NGSS and common core state standards, additional materials are needed to support the development of students as teachers improve pedagogy by offering students the chance to learn through play.
