The reading corner items will help encourage my students to get a book in their hands in "special" area in my room. It will also help them chose to read more books independently. The calming corner will offer students a variety of tools and calming area to use to regain control of his/her emotions to return to his/her academics. These items will help give students other ways to calm themselves down. The book shelf and the chairs will be added to the new reading corner I am trying to create to make finding a book easier and also a more comfortable area for my students to enjoy reading books independently.
