Help us virtually leave our room! In my 8th grade civics class students engage in a variety of activities that help empower them to become active in their community. Whether it is a mock election or an action research project, students are constantly encouraged to question the world around them and think critically about how the actions of individuals can impact many. Throughout the year we explore the strengths and limitations of our Constitution, how our identities influence our views of the world and our political leanings, the complexities of immigration and immigration policies and how groups and individuals in the past and present have struggled to gain the rights and freedoms guaranteed by our nation's founding documents. Your donations would help us fill up our class chromebook cart so that each student can have in class access to the internet.
