My students are intelligent, funny, and a total mess, but I love them! This year I will have about 90 eighth graders. I've taught half of them last year. I work hard to create a positive learning environment where they feel safe. I was thinking earlier today, students may not have the right to behave any way they choose, but they have to right to be loved no matter what they do. I want them to know that. We are going to make mistakes, but we are going to learn every day. It's going to be fun, stressful, exciting, boring, and interesting. My students are excited to learn. This particular class would get upset when the independent reading time was over and beg for a few more minutes--this made me so happy.
