By choosing to support this project you will be greatly enriching the lives of some very special students. These kiddos come from some of the lowest economic areas in the metro and have intellectual disabilities. Many have never had access to these kinds materials to help self-regulate their sensory needs. Even though the 2016-2017 school year will mark my 7th year teaching, it is my very first year in a special education classroom. I was fortunate enough to be able to observe and volunteer in what will be my classroom this fall. I noticed immediately that there is no calming or sensory regulation items available for these special needs kiddos; we are starting from scratch. It would be amazing to be able create an awesome place for these students. Please help me give these students a whole new learning experience.
