Next year, I will be providing my students with flexible seating options! My students love to learn and do their best learning when comfortable! Don't we all? Studies show that when students are able to choose a seat that is more comfortable and that they are able to move in, their engagement increases. Flexible Seating allows for students to have the opportunity to try different seating options, i.e. standing table, wiggle cushions, stability ball chairs, etc. to help increase their engagement. In my classroom, we already move around a lot and I want to provide opportunities for functional seating and storage. The stability ball chairs will help students who need to move more during the day get the stimulation they need to pay attention and succeed. The different storage options will help our classroom run smoothly and functionally. My goal is to create a positive classroom environment for my students where their love for learning can grow and they can become lifelong learners. With the different types of seating available to them, the students will be more engaged, successful, and grow their love for education!
