Flexible seating has become such a vital component of education. By providing my students with an individual yoga ball to use as flexible seating, they will be more engaged in the lesson, and will be able to take control of their own learning. Often times children struggle with focusing when they are asked to sit in a very uncomfortable chair for a great amount of time. However, by donating to my project of a class set of yoga balls, my students' learning will be greatly enriched as they will be able to focus more on the instruction rather than their bodies' natural instincts to move and wiggle around. The yoga ball will provide the child a chance to move in a manner that does not interrupt his or her fellow classmates, while still being engaged in the learning. A great amount of my students spend more time at school and after care programs than they do in their own home. With this being said, I would love nothing more than to provide my students the opportunity to be in an effective, engaging, comfortable, and welcoming environment while in my class.
