My students come from a variety of backgrounds and situations. Even though nearly half of our students receive free and / or reduced lunches, we've learned that starting the day off right makes a big difference for everyone! That's why we teach an hour of science each and every day, right after the bell rings. We keep it hands on, collaborative, and supportive. Students who normally won't join in, or hesitate to share ideas, find themselves involved and engaged and eager to participate. This spills over into our other subjects through out the day and has paid off in huge benefits for everyone, but most especially for our most reluctant students. Reaching each and every student is a goal we have set and we strive to reach that goal every day! Thank you for supporting our efforts and our students!
