My sixth graders are full of energy and have a desire to learn. Students in my class know that they have to work hard, make mistakes, and sometimes feel uncomfortable when learning new things. They know that they have big things to accomplish in this world and that they can be agents of change if they choose to be. My school is located in the SF Bay Area where students learn and collaborate in a diverse classroom. The opportunities created in my classroom allow students to grow as citizens and in their appreciation of others from a variety of religious, cultural, and ethnic background. My hope is that as students learn to respect and collaborate together now, they can carry this with them for their lifetime.
