I work at a Title 1 school with a high population of ELL's or English Language Learners. Many of my students may not be able to speak English when they walk into my classroom but that doesn't keep them for being just as excited to learn as all the other children. They are constant reminders of what it means to persevere despite a challenge. Many of them learn at an accelerated pace throughout the school year and they all meet the high expectations I set for them. My students are also extremely kind and loving. Because they have grown up in homes where resources are scarce, they are constantly teaching me how to use and re-use different items. I learn just as much from them everyday as they learn from me.
