My students attend a K-4 elementary school in the beautiful state of Tennessee. My wonderful students are among a very diverse population, with nearly all living below the poverty line. Not only are my students living in poverty, but they are also beginning the lengthy process of learning English. This is especially hard because the language spoken at home is one other than English. My class is an amazing melting pot with many countries from across the globe being represented. You would never know the hardships my students face on a daily basis. The smile on their face and eagerness to learn is nothing but contagious!
