Our school was remodeled 4 years ago and in the planning and budgeting they left out installing a water fountain in our gymnasium. Currently, students who wish to get a drink during PE have to go through the teacher workroom to access a water fountain. This project is asking for funding for a Water Bottle filling, 2 level water fountain that will be used by the students in my classroom daily, as well as the other 300+ students in the school. Staying hydrated is a key to maintaining a healthy brain and body, and it is important for maintaining focus and learning. Teachers allow students to have water bottles in the classroom, but there are drawbacks to this. The disposable ones create excess waste, and the refillable ones take FOREVER to fill at our small water fountains. A water bottle filling stations would solve a world of problems at our school. AND a bonus, it could be used by the community as well during after school hour events! A one time investment would benefit the health of our community for years and years!
