Currently all of my students have the opportunity to utilize appropriate online learning sites everyday. These sites help them build their skills and fill in the gaps with which they are struggling in both math and reading. What they are learning and working on while using these sites is important to their success in the classroom. The auditory aspect of this learning experience is crucial. We have used headphones before, however, many have broken or are worn-down because we have shared it with other classes in the school. My students are undoubtedly more on task and engaged in their learning when they each have their own set of headphones to use. This helps them block out any distractions that may be going on in the class enabling them to focus intently on what they are learning. With headphones my students are also less distracting to their peers around them making the overall learning environment in my classroom more conducive to success. I have seen how having headphones for each student elevates their learning experience and ultimately improves their performance in all other areas. Having a new class set of headphones will help my students on their road to success!
