Many of these materials will contribute to the whole-class learning experience. Some students learn better through movement, so the ball chairs will allow for my "fidgeters" to appropriately channel their energy while still focusing on classwork. By having a "lit lounge," students will be able to engage with each other in a more comfortable setting that lends itself to collaboration. It is stressful being a high school student today, and anxiety decreases students' performance in the classroom. By setting up the classroom in a way that is more inviting, students may feel more comfortable to share their thoughts and emotions about what it is we are studying.

About my class
