This is my 5th year at Martin Luther King Jr. Junior High, I have taught both 8th & 7th grade English and my classes have ranged from Special Education students to Honors and Pre-AP students. This year I will strictly teach Special Education students. I know where our students weakest areas are in English and English crosses over into Social Studies and Science classes as well. I would like to work on our students' want, will, and drive to read and learn. Educating our students isn't just about just teaching to a test it teaching our students how to learn. In this spirit, I would like to create a comfortable reading space where students want to read, I also want to give offer incentives for reading. To do this I need seating, lighting, prizes for incentives, and BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS of all levels.
