Today's career field is filled with opportunities for individuals who have experience with programming. For our students to be successful throughout their schooling and in their future careers, early exposure to computer science skills is vital. The Code-a-pillar toys and attachments will allow all three kindergarten classrooms to teach basic programming skills in a playful way. These items also teach cause/effect and allow the students to investigate chain reactions. The botley robot is the next step in programming. Once the students have mastered the other items they can move on to more complex situations. The botley robot can build the students problem-solving skills. The last two ALEX toys teach programming skills without the need for technology. This keeps the students' screen exposure down without limiting their chances of learning these skills.
