The pandemic had students on distance learning and they could learn from any location in their homes. Having them come back into traditional classrooms, where they sit at a desk for hours wasn’t as effective and led to less engagement and more behavior issues. Having flexible seating options in my classroom will encourage students to engage in the project based lessons I have in my classroom. They will collaborate more with their peers and have a choice in how they engage in their learning. Collaboration is key in project based learning and it encourages students to work together like they would as adults in the workforce. Because of Covid-19, there has been a shift in how students do school and flexible seating options inside my classroom will reflect that to inspire them to continue learning.
