I am a Special Education Teacher in the RISE special purpose program (Reaching Independence through Systematic Education) at Geiger Elementary School. I have 8 children (K-2) as a part of my classroom who are diagnosed with Autism and 6 Educational Technician's who work 2:1 and 1:1 with the children on a daily basis, implementing their individualized education plans (IEP's) including academic lesson plans and behavioral plans. We are working towards increasing each of their time in the general education classroom. Some of my children are in the general education classroom all day long with support, wheres others may only go in for part of their day's for morning meeting, lunch and recess and receive their academics and behavioral programming within my classroom.
