This is my fourth year as a math lead teacher/instructional coach for a Title I school! I love having all the different ages of students come into my math lab for hands-on lessons. At other schools, I have had access to many math manipulatives and I am much more effective if I can show my students concepts. Even better, I love to have them discover, prove, and justify their solutions. So many of my current students think math is memorizing steps and formulas. I am trying to help them understand mathematics at a deeper level so that math and science can be a strength for them. I am also involved in after school activities like math club, music club, chess club, and I run a tutoring program. Our students benefit from exposure to these opportunities as they strive to reach their potential.
