My students live in a high poverty area, I am teaching a class mixed with Kindergarten and First grade special education students. These are the highest need kids who are still learning how to function in an educational setting. We are working on both academic as well as social skills daily. Learning reading, writing and math is just as important as learning to be good citizen.
