Students exercise their brains (aka read!) more when they have access to high interest books. Flexible seating allows students to get their energy out while enhancing student focus. Some students find it difficult to develop an interest in reading, but become avid readers when they find that one special character to help them get started on their reading adventure. Not only does my classroom library serve my current students, it also supports my former students and others at school. Dozens of students come to my room to borrow books so I need more high-interest titles available at all times! If my students have more high interest books and flexible seating options, they will focus more on their reading and will achieve better brain and body balance! My students know that more reading leads to more learning and more learning leads to more opportunities in the future.
