I teach computer technology in a school that serves kindergarten through 8th grade. The poverty rate is high, and we are a Title school. Most of my students look forward to school on a daily basis because for them, school is their safe place where their classmates and teachers are like family. As their technology teacher, I hope to provide students with opportunities to be creative and learn while working on engaging activities. My hope is to expand their ideas about technology beyond the video games that they play with their friends. Our school is a tight knit community where the older kids help the younger kids from time to time with special projects. The younger kids really look up to their older friends, and the older kids are learning how to be role models.
