I worked in an urban district where most of my students don't get the opportunity to go outside and explore the world around them. My goal is to bring the outside world inside for them to explore. I incorporate a lot of natural and physical science into my classroom which then leads to enhanced learning of math and literacy skills. There is nothing more rewarding than to see a child's eye from the other side of a magnifying glass and have them exclaim, "I see the veins of the leaf" or have a child mix blue and yellow and say, "I made green. Look, Mrs. Haller. I made green. Wow, that's amazing." My hope is that each of my students can have a moment like that a least once in the time they are with me. Thank you in advance for supporting our class!
