Books are the key to help students unlock a love for reading. It is my goal to help my kindergarteners learn how to read by encouraging a love for books and reading. Reading is a fundamental skill to help build successful and prosperous citizens. To help students, I need resources and thus I am looking to purchase independent and guided reading books that are on the students reading level. The books are bright and colorful, they have simple sentences and use repetitive language patterns to help build confidence in reading skills. They also include topics that are interesting for the learners to read about. The books will be used to increase my classroom library. The learners will be able to shop weekly for books that interest them and are on their reading level to practice their reading skills. The sets of books will be used in small group lessons to guide learners through the reading process.
