Many of my seventh grade students are struggling and reluctant readers. I personally purchase novels in attempt to get as many books as I can into my classroom and into my students' hands. I try to foster a love for reading. While a handful of students were receptive, many of them still objected when I asked them to read. I finally realized how to reach them - Nooks! Because I bring in my own personal e-book reader often, students are familiar with e-book readers. Many of my students are so curious about my e-book reader. As I only have one, student access to my e-book is limited. I would love to, over time, create a class set of Nooks. Can you imagine how much you can help me increase the literacy levels of my struggling students by gifting us with Nooks?
