I teach 1st grade in a diverse school in Virginia. We are a Title I school in which over 40% of the students receive free/reduced price lunch. Many of my students speak English as a second language and have minimal support at home. While they are very eager to learn, we have limited high interest non-fiction resources such as magazines.
