I am the K-5 Title I teacher at Carlisle Elementary School. As part of our Title I program, we do K-2 Literacy Groups and Literature Circles. I also work academically at-risk K-5 individual students based on their needs and occasionally collaborate with K-5 teachers for classroom projects. Carlisle Elementary School is located in Sullivan County, along the banks of the Wabash River. Sullivan County is an impoverished, rural farming- and coal-based community. We have 175 students in our rural school. Seven out of ten our students are in the free or reduced lunch program.
