My school is a school of choice, acceptance is by lottery, and is located in the inner-city. Many of our students do not have access to the basic necessities at home, live in homes with multiple families and over 50% of our parents have not graduated high school. However, both our students and parents have made the commitment that education is important. They have chosen to send their children to us because of our high expectations and our hands-on approach to teaching. All of our middle school students take Pre-Algebra in 7th grade and Algebra in 8th grade. This includes students with special needs and those not yet fluent in English. We provide all students with a rigorous curriculum and the support necessary to succeed.
