I am a 4th grade Math/Science teacher at a public school in the Englewood community of Chicago with 99% low-income families. This is a very high crime and poverty area where my students come to school everyday and work hard to learn despite their challenges. We are a magnet school that is focused on academic achievement. Our resources are limited but our drive for success can't be measured. Our focus is on learning so that we can have the best success possible. Math and Science have been a struggle area for my students so we have started a personalized learning method to help meet students where they are currently and help them get to grade level and above. They are committed scholars who are up for the challenge! I am extremely proud to be their teacher.
