Many of the students in my classes come from impoverished homes and do not have access to many opportunities that students in more affluent areas enjoy. One of my students is quite the little dventurer and discovered several bullfrog tadpoles in a pond near her home. She brought them to school to share with her classmates. My children have become fascinated with watching them and concerned because we lack the proper supplies to keep them alive. For some of my students, this is the only experience they have ever had with a "pet", and have really developed a nurturing attitude towards them. I would like to see this continued.
