Anchor charts are a valuable teaching tool that supports students during all stages of the learning process. In my classroom, we often center lessons around anchor charts for the learning of new concepts, brainstorming during the writing process, and collaborative learning on a topic. My students need an easily visible classroom easel with chart paper. By having a classroom easel, the anchor chart we create during a lesson will be easily visible to all students. Not only do we use anchor charts during specific lessons, but we revisit and reference anchor charts several times during a unit. My students will benefit from having these items in our classroom and engage them in the learning process.
