Right now, students practice spelling in the centuries-old way that has been done since dinosaurs roamed the Earth! We write and re-write. Over. And over. Again. Dull. Boring. Barely retained long enough to pass the test. Spelling City is an interactive computer app/game that, through active engagement of students, helps build retention, motivation, and excitement for spelling through a game-like atmosphere and through the use of technology (what kiddo doesn't love using Chromebooks?) Using Spelling City, students will beg for spelling time, word work practice won't be dull, rote, writing and re-writing the same words over and over or reciting the letters (also over and over again) memorizing and repeating them-not really comprehending what they are saying, just parroting the list.
