My students come from a very diverse origin, we are learning all content areas in two languages simultaneously (English and Spanish) since we are in a Dual Language class. Half of my students are from Hispanic origin and their first language is Spanish, while the other half are from English speaking homes. Our school is cataloged as Title I school, which means that most of our students are at or below poverty level. All my students welcome all cultures and have become very confident in the use of the second language, which will give them an advantage in the future because they will be bi-literate, bilingual and bicultural.
