Research shows that when students utilize graphic organizers like Thinking Maps and Venn Diagrams, they learn and retain information in addition to building a deeper understanding of concepts. Pair writing on your desk (which students were always told NOT to do!) with learning, and viola; lots of learning going on! Besides the actual writing on the tabletop and organizing information, using different color codes (like a key to a map) is an added accommodation to help with the learning process, especially for students who struggle with understanding the concepts of Biology and Forensic Science. Help me engage my students and get them learning by having fun!
