My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in reading. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Students in my classroom like to read about animals, superheroes, princesses and so much more! Classroom space is limited, as are funds to purchase high-quality reading materials. We have access to thousands of books online, but we are limited by access to digital tools to gain access to these materials. We have 90 first graders that share a set of iPads. When one class is working on a digital project, we lose access to the digital materials. With access to tablets (that offer 1 year of FREE learning apps and videos), they would be able to independently learn from various educational websites and apps during learning stations for every single subject, not just reading! They would also be able to use the camera option to document their hard work and share with their families.
