My class consists of 18 students, ages 6-8. These students are diverse in their cultures and backgrounds, which primarily consist of English and Amish. My students are typical children in every way. They are curious, happy, loving, kind, generous and very excited about school. They remind me every single day why I decided to become a teacher. Our school is situated in a small village in a rural setting, and we are surrounded by bigger towns with bigger school systems. We have approximately 130 students in our school, and we offer grades K-8. Many of our students do not continue their education past grade 8, so we bear the responsibility of doing in 9 years what most school systems accomplish in 13.
